Print Solutions – Redevelopment

Location Napier
Studio TEAM Architects Napier

As part of the ongoing regeneration of the fringe commercial zone in Napier, the relocation of Pronto Prints (now Print Solutions) involved transforming a 1960s warehouse and adjoining 1970s offices into a modern complex.

Being located on one of the busiest corners in Napier (between Carlyle and Tennyson St) the design warranted a striking building form and strong colours, with the latter reflection the operation of the occupants and their primary logo.

The bold use of colours strongly accentuates the external design for the premises which were conceived as a response to the bland and lacklustre buildings that existed previously – an attempt to make a much greater visual impact, and to reinforce the client’s unified and different identity.

Studio Director, Tim Judd worked with both the building’s owner and Pronto Print to rationalise, enlarge and wrap the existing structures to suit the specific requirements of the copying and printing operation – including all interior planning and design.
