In a combined effort with Team Architects, Amtech Construction and an inspired client, the team undertook the extensive refurbishment of an early 1980’s house in Poraiti, Napier.
The main purpose of the new design was to provide new master bedroom quarters for the client, ensuring the layout took advantage of the vistas of Napier and Hawke’s Bay offered by the site. The remainder of the house was redeveloped to afford spatial relationships and usage to fit the client’s lifestyle needs.
The style of the new section is unashamedly modern-the palette of materials and colour scheme were then carried through to the exterior refurbishment.
Interior planning emphasizes the indoor-outdoor style of living, totally suited to the location in Hawke’s Bay-the key planning element was the informal gallery area unifying the main formal spaces with the main entry and outdoor spaces.
