Mangapapa Hotel

Mangapapa Hotel

Mangapapa Hotel was a traditional Hawkes Bay homestead hotel sitting in fully developed gardens. It was already very special and destined to become even more so. The opportunity arose, through re-development of the homestead and three existing buildings to form an award winning boutique hotel complex. Extensive re-construction and re-modelling was undertaken to provide luxurious 5 star accommodation throughout. Each bedroom suite is different and all incorporate excellent standards of design, craftsmanship and workmanship. The homestead informed the design of the cottage and central building nearby. External wall cladding, windows, external light fittings, timber joinery, facings and door-sets were all designed in keeping. Choices of finishes internally, and lighting and landscaping design externally, were well considered by all parties in creating this award winning hotel complex.

East Pier Bar and Brasserie

East Pier Bar and Brasserie

“A hospitality mecca” was the phrase used when this Bar and Brasserie development was completed. The design is such that views across Westshore and north to Mahia are framed through large areas of glazing. The bar and back- up facilities are set back so as not to interrupt these views. Daylight was well considered in all of the internal public spaces and external dining was well cater for. Good choice of materials and good detailing are notable features of the development. These types of buildings are constantly changing and extending and the practice has had involvement in projects resulting from this.
