Taradale Public Library

Taradale Public Library

The most recent public building on which Team Architects Napier has carried out design and documentation services is the Taradale Public Library for Napier City Council. The design concept was to create light airy spaces with strong visual links to the existing park on the south side of the site. The total building form emphasises this orientation in that all the roofs slope upwards from the wall on the north side. The internal planning is set so that most users experience these views over the park. The project was carried out on a Design & Build basis with a Guaranteed Maximum Price and was completed within a tight timeframe and within budget. It has received much praise from staff and users.

Warehouse for Vintage Bicycle Storage and Display

Warehouse for Vintage Bicycle Storage and Display

This project was to create a warehouse building to function as a display store, a base for hire,  and a meeting place for vintage bicycle enthusiasts.  An Art Deco style frontage was desirable as most bicycle hire would take place during each of the Art Deco week-ends. The project was successful and has since been extended through provision of an open canopy on one side.
